1. What we use
- Authentication cookies — set by Supabase to keep you signed in securely.
- Language preference — a cookie (EDULABS_LOCALE) remembers your chosen UI language so the site loads in it next time.
- Local storage — used to auto-save worksheet drafts and to keep a live quiz attempt in place if you refresh. This stays in your browser and is not a cookie.
2. Product analytics, and where they do not run
On teacher and marketing pages we use privacy-focused product analytics (PostHog and Vercel Analytics) plus Vercel Speed Insights to see which features get used, where people get stuck and whether pages are responsive. These record page visits, feature usage and technical performance, not lesson, student or message content.
They are switched off entirely on student pages. The quiz player, the join screen, the student dashboard and worksheet pages load no analytics script at all — not a script that is asked politely not to fire, but no script. Children cannot meaningfully consent to being measured, so we do not measure them.
Permissioned teacher updates sent through Resend may contain a small open-measurement image and tracked links. These help us estimate delivery, opens and which campaign links were selected. Open figures can be affected by inbox privacy features and automated scanners, so we treat them as estimates. This measurement is limited to adult-facing email and does not run on student pages or include classroom, lesson or student content. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link that stops future teacher marketing updates.
3. What we don’t use
We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site behavioural profiles, ad-network pixels or trackers that follow people between websites. Limited Resend delivery, open and link-click measurement for permissioned teacher email is used only to operate and evaluate those EdulabsAI messages; it is not used for third-party advertising.
4. Managing cookies
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, but strictly necessary authentication cookies are required to sign in. Clearing the language cookie simply resets the interface to English.
